Chick Corea, Children's song no. 20
On December 28, 2007, I gave a concert with an electric organ without pedals. Searching for original works to play, I remembered Corea's Children's songs, I work I am very fond of.
The first half of the suite is anyway intended for any kind of keyboard. It was revealing, though, to play the last piece on organ. It acquired a majestic character.

John Cage, Four^6
There are many things that interest me to perform. A field that ever drags my attention is experimental music. John Cage is a constant inspiration, both with his music and his thought. I am particularly fond of his so-called "number pieces" (which represent the final period of his work).
On May 31, 2006 I organized a concert dedicated to the music of Cage, at the Hellenic-American Union at Athens, which included Four^6 and Speech (1955).
On Four^6, apart from me participated Manos Panayiotakis [Μάνος Παναγιωτάκης], Lefteris Papadimitriou [Λευτέρης Παπαδημητρίου] and Kostas Tsatsakos [Κώστας Τσατσάκος] (in the concert also participated Vasso Zafiropoulou [Βάσσω Ζαφειροπούλου] and Dafni Sofokleous [Δάφνη Σοφοκλέους]).
In this piece each performer chooses 12 sounds and play with them in a prescribed order but with a flexible timing. Its duration is 30 minutes.

Morton Feldman, Palais de Mari
Another composer linked to the experimental tradition. I like his transparent music and his capacity of ever renewing the interest using a minimum material. The works of his last creative period have reached a mantra-like quality, going for hours at times. A rather short example is his last piano piece, Palais de Mari, lasting 20 minutes.
I played this piece in a solo concert at Athens, on February 12, 2006, at a program of 20th and 21st century music, including greek and world premiers.

Howard Skempton
At the above mentioned all-modern concert I also presented a selection of eight Skempton pieces. (Out of english composers, the same concert also included Cornelius Cardew's Memories of you).

Lefteris Papadimitriou
2000 was a prolific year for Greek composer Lefteris Papadimitriou, with the completion of two sets of "variations", one for string quartet, the other for piano. These are variations in a very personal sense (like e.g. Anton Webern's).
Variations for piano is a rhythmically difficult work and takes strength to master, due to its almost continuous eighth note pulse.
I gave its premiere at the above mentioned concert. The same concert also featured two other world premieres of Greek composers (which complete the program): Iakovos Konitopoulos [Ιάκωβος Κονιτόπουλος] and Panagiotis Marinos [Παναγιώτης Μαρίνος].
